What about me? How did I get into all this. Well I swam as a kid and I loved swimming, sort of kept it going through University but struggled to juggle it all so fell away and then moved to Australia when I graduated and stopped completely. Now Australia you would think would inspire me to lead an active outdoor life and it did⦠eventually. There was a bit of a blip in the middle but needless to say one day I plucked up the courage to join a gym and found Les Mills BodyCombat (release 8!). That was it, I was totally smitten and wanted to become a BodyCombat instructor. The rest is history, I trained to be a Master Personal Trainer with the Australian Institute of Fitness, qualified, came back to Scotland and got my first job as a Fitness instructor and I have not looked back since.
So here I am now, 2 kids and a new hip later rediscovering what my body can do and enjoying being able to move again.
Side note - I returned to swimming just before lockdown 2020 (because of my arthritic hip) and found an undiscovered love of Open (Wild) Water Swimming (I was always terrified of open water â too many things in the water) Australia did NOT help with this. Always happy to share my love of swimming too.
Everyday fitness – that is my goal, to be fit for life and all the challenges it throws our way. We are constantly evolving and adapting to the world around us and our changing bodies and lifestyles. Our bodies age, our health changes and the demands on our time fluctuate. I believe that exercise in whatever form it takes helps you to manage those changes physically and mentally and lets you enjoy your life and live the way you want to. I am here to help you live that life!
